Sails for sailing clubs and schools are often used on commonly found boats, such as C420, Optimist, CFJ, or Laser.
Sailing clubs and sailing schools (also known as Community Sailing) programs provide access to the water for everyone—whether it’s recreational sailing, adaptive programs, or youth racing. This isn’t about chasing trophies with ultra-high-tech sails that last a season. We get it. Our focus is on making sails that are fun, affordable, easy to handle, and built to last.
While many sailmakers pursue the thrill of another world championship, we find our greatest reward in supporting the organizations that grow the sport—introducing new sailors to the water and keeping passionate enthusiasts engaged.
Our sails are Built for the Real World:
- Durability:
- Our sails are constructed using heavier, more robust materials than typical racing or privately-owned recreational sails. They’re designed to handle the daily demands of instructional programs and community use. We offer smart design modifications —like negative roach jibs, reduced batten count, reinforced corners, and simplified shapes—to minimize wear and tear while maximizing life span.
- Affordability:
- We prioritize cost-effectiveness, but we don’t chase the cheapest possible price at the expense of quality. Instead, we strike the right balance between price and performance. A slightly heavier Dacron or radial reinforcement might cost more upfront—but they’ll give you extra seasons of use and preserve sail shape longer.
- Ease of Use
- We understand sailing club needs and customize sails or offer options to keep ease of use in mind
Over the years, we have developed standard designs for many “commonly” used sails for sailing clubs and schools. These include:
- C420
- CFJ
- Optimist
- Laser Pico©
- Laser© / ILCA (MKII, Standard, Radial, and 4.7)
- Laser Vago
- RS Quest
- Pacer
- Topper
- Hobie Twixxy©
- Mercator
- …
If you use sails that are less commonly used, we will work with you and likely design a program just for you.
